Grocery Shopping

We were grocery shopping the other day and wanted to look at buying some tortilla chips. Grocery prices are rather high here and the quality is definitely lacking. It's not unusual to buy something at the store and find that it has already surpassed the sell by date. These chips had us laughing. The bag is less than half full for the low price of $4.99. Needless to say, we had no chips.

The Old Fashioned Way

This morning Allison asked me if she could have a dollar for school. Apparently they let the kids use the vending machines (which includes a coffee machine) during snacktime or go to the piragua vendor (http://www.dollarman.com/puertorico/piragua.html) right outside the gates. So I said "Well, maybe you can do something to earn yourself a dollar before school today." She replied that she wanted to earn a dollar the old fashioned way. I asked her what she meant and she said, "I want you to just give it to me." Ah yes, the old fashioned way.

An Uninvited Guest

One of Blake's favorite new things to do is tell me something is an emergency. For example a conversation might go like this.

Blake: "Mom?"

Me: "Yes, Blake?"

Blake: (excitedly) "You better come in the kitchen right now, it's an emergency!"

(I drop everything and rush into the kitchen)

Me: (frantically) "What is it?"

Blake: "I need some juice."

So the other day, I am changing Carter's diaper in the living room and Blake comes running in saying..."Mom, it's an emergency!!". Thinking about the boy who cried wolf, I casually respond with a sigh, "What is it Blake?", and he says "There's a bird in our house!" This gets my attention so I go into the dining room to fnd this. Yes son, Mommy does consider this an emergency. Luckily Daddy was home to save the day.

Where Does the Time Go???

I came across these shots while looking for something else on my computer. These pictures are from April of 2004. Four short years ago, my babies looked like this. They seem so small. I just can't get over how fast time flies. Now I have another child! Why do they have to grow up so fast?! AWWWW!
